He's Just Not That Into You (2009)

Cast: Ginnifer Goodwin (Gigi), Scarlett Johansson (Anna), Bradley Cooper (Ben), Justin Long (Alex), Ben Affleck (Neil), Jennifer Aniston (Beth), Jennifer Connelly (Janine), Drew Barrymore (Mary), Wilson Cruz (Nathan), Kris Kristofferson (Ken Murphy)
For complete info on this amazing cast, see IMDb's He's Just Not That Into You page.
Initially, I thought a movie based on the hilarious book He's Just Not That Into You wouldn't be done well enough. Then, the cast was announced and I thought there was no way they'd get that many well-known cast members if the script wasn't well done. Turns out, I was right.
Other than using the title at an appropriately timed place in the beginning of the movie, the title is never used. No one actually says, "He's just not that into you," though they say similar things throughout the movie. I think it was very well done and is a hilarious movie worth seeing (in a theatre or renting it). If I hadn't had friends interested in going, I probably would have rented He's Just Not That Into You. It won't lose anything on the small screen, but I'm still glad I saw it.
One thing I really like about the movie is that it's NOT all women misjudging men. There are guys who don't necessarily get it, too. It helps to show that misunderstanding the (often very clear) messages from the opposite sex is something men and women both have to handle.
I also really loved seeing Greg Behrendt (most public author of the book) in the movie as the minister in a scene. He didn't say anything, but he looked right at the camera and I think it's good that he was a part of the movie. I'm sure it helped to keep the movie on target and funny.
Clearly, it won't be nominated for any awards, but He's Just Not That Into You is a very enjoyable chick flick.

Lucky You (2007)

Cast: Eric Bana (Huck Cheever), Drew Barrymore (Billie Offer), Debra Messing (Susanne Offer), Robert Duvall (L. C. Cheever)
For complete info, see IMDb's Lucky You page.
I was pleasantly surprised by Lucky You. Although I don't read reviews before seeing movies, I do read titles and look at grades and from all of that, I expected very little from this movie. I rented it anyway, since I'll see anything with Drew Barrymore and it was an entertaining movie. A bit too predictable? At times, as long as you're just expecting an entertaining movie that's not gonna knock your socks off, Lucky You is worth renting.

Music and Lyrics (2007)

Cast: Hugh Grant (Alex Fletcher), Drew Barrymore (Sophie Fisher), Brad Garrett (Chris Riley), Kristen Johnston (Rhonda Fisher)
For complete info, see IMDb's Music and Lyrics page.
Don't let the fact that Music and Lyrics didn't last long in theatres deter you from renting this movie. It's a very cute romantic comedy, with a lot of cheesy music. If you've ever liked a pop group (and who hasn't?), the whole concept of the movie is already hilarious. The cast is great and it's definitely well worth renting.
I really enjoyed Music and Lyrics. It's charming and cute and the music is much more entertaining than I would have thought from the commercials.

Curious George (2006)

Cast: Will Ferrell (Ted/The Man in the Yellow Hat), Drew Barrymore (Miss Maggie Dunlop), Eugene Levy (Clovis)
For complete info, see IMDb's Curious George site.
I wasn't expecting much of Curious George, since I know it got a lot of bad reviews (I don't read them, but the titles and final grades weren't very good). I loved the Curious George books as a child and thought the idea of an animated movie was great.
I liked the way that they started the story. The movie definitely needed to explain how the man in the yellow hat (who they named Ted) ended up having a pet monkey and I think they did a good job of it. The story isn't one that would work in an adult movie, but it was very cute and well done.
The animation in Curious George isn't the best, but the story is cute and has very good music. I highly recommend renting it if you loved the books or have kids.

Fever Pitch (2005)

Cast: Drew Barrymore (Lindsey Meeks), Jimmy Fallon (Ben)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's Fever Pitch page.
I'll see anything with Drew Barrymore in it. I think she's such a great actress. And, I enjoy Jimmy Fallon. So, though it killed me (as a Yankees fan) to see this movie which captures the Boston World Series victory on film, I went to see Fever Pitch on opening day.
As a baseball fan, I loved the movie, in spite of the fact that his favorite team was the Red Sox. I've never been that obsessed with anything, but I definitely have my obsessions so I could relate to the dedication he had to the team.
This is a really sweet romantic comedy that adds sports into the mix, which is always fun. I probably rate this higher than a non-sports fan would, since the sports aspect added to the enjoyment, in spite of the fact that it was my least favorite team.

I'm a huge fan of Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler, so I was really looking forward to seeing them together in another movie. 50 First Dates was a cute romantic comedy. Definitely worth renting if you don't get to it in movie theaters.
Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler make a great pair. I didn't even mind that Rob Schneider (who I normally avoid at all costs) was in the movie.

Cast: Drew Barrymore (Dylan Sanders), Cameron Diaz (Natalie Cook), Lucy Liu (Alex Munday), Bernie Mac (Jimmy Bosley), Crispin Glover (Thin Man)
For complete info, see IMDb's Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle page.
I really enjoyed this movie. You always have to worry about sequels, but I think they did a very good job with this installment of the Charlie's Angels movies and I will see a third if they make one! If you didn't catch this because you worried about the sequel, it's well done. As long as you don't expect it to be anything more than it is (and than the first one was), you'll enjoy this movie.

Riding in Cars with Boys (2001)

Cast: Drew Barrymore (Beverly Donofrio), Steve Zahn (Ray Hasek), Adam Garcia (Jason), Brittany Murphy (Fay Forrester), James Woods (Mr. Leonard Donofrio)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's Riding in Cars with Boys page.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie about a single mother who feels her unplanned son (and his drug-addicted father) has interrupted her dreams of becoming a writer. Riding in Cars with Boys is beautifully told. The cast is amazing. The music is great, and the story is wonderful! The fact that Riding in Cars with Boys is based on a true story makes it even more touching and meaningful.
Granted, the real-life Beverly accomplished a lot more (master's degree in creative writing) than the film version (high school drop-out), but I think that the movie is wonderful and I highly recommend it! The relationship between Beverly and her son and the way he takes care of her is really moving. It's amazing how love (even when you think it may have hurt your life in some way) can shape a life. I highly recommend Riding in Cars with Boys!

Cast: Drew Barrymore (Dylan Sanders), Cameron Diaz (Natalie Cook), Lucy Liu (Alex Munday), Bill Murray (John Bosley), Sam Rockwell (Eric Knox)
For complete info, see IMDb's Charlie's Angels page.
I loved the TV show and think that they did a really good job with the Charlie's Angels movie. I think they put in a lot of little things that you'll recognize if you watched the show. Not the best of the detective movies, but the TV show wasn't super-intelligent and difficult to figure out, either, so that's to be expected.
The cast is great and the action is very well done. I think they did a good job and that this is worth watching.

For complete cast info, see IMDb's Never Been Kissed page.
Drew Barrymore shows up in a movie, and I'm there. The same now goes for Michael Vartan. The rest of this cast was also amazing!
Never Been Kissed is the perfect romantic comedy. Where else can the nerdy girl in high school go back to high school and get everything she always wanted when she was in high school the first time around while figuring out that friendship is what really matters in life. Almost the entire movie is told in a flashback while waiting for the final moment of the movie, which ties it all together. Very well told! Such a cute movie.

Home Fries (1998)

Cast: Drew Barrymore (Sally Jackson), Catherine O'Hara (Beatrice Lever), Luke Wilson (Dorian Montier), Jake Busey (Angus Montier)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's Home Fries page.
This story about a pregnant woman who unknowingly falls for the step-son of the deceased father of her child and copes with the craziness of the family he left behind is very entertaining. I saw it because of Drew Barrymore and Luke Wilson. I'd see almost anything either of them do and I'm rarely disappointed. In spite of the poor marketting campaign, this movie was no exception. Home Fries is hardly high brow, but it's very enjoyable to watch.

Such a wonderful version of the Cinderella story! This story is told by a decendent of Cinderella's as if the whole story really happened and she wants to clear up the facts of the story with the brothers Grimm. Very entertaining!
The acting is amazing and the story is very well written. The costumes are wonderful and the ball is very well decorated.
I'll definitely end up owning this one. It's the classic romantic fairy tale.

Such a cute romantic comedy. Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore make a great pair in The Wedding Singer! I loved the 80's music for the soundtrack. So many memories... And then for Billy Idol to show up in a scene was too funny. Enjoy the flashbacks and the 80's memories this movie brings back for you and the sweet love story.

Having finally seen Scream, I really wish I had seen it on the big screen. I thought it would be a bit too much for me that way, but this amazing parody of slasher films was hilarious. The body count was still high, but Scream is such a funny movie that you can forget that at times. The fact that this movie makess fun of a whole genre while still being a part of that genre is wonderful! And who would have ever guessed Drew Barrymore would play that part? I won't say more in case you've missed this gem, but I was really surprised. Such a great move on her part! If you somehow managed to miss this great movie (as I did), you must go see it! Rent it, turn out all the lights, and enjoy!
