What Just Happened (2008)

Cast: Robert De Niro (Ben), Bruce Willis (Actor), Stanley Tucci (Scott Solomon), John Turturro (Dick Bell), Kristen Stewart (Zoe), Robin Wright Penn (Kelly), Sean Penn (Himself)
For complete info, see IMDb's What Just Happened page.
Considering the fact that great actors like Sean Penn & Robin Wright Penn played fairly minor roles in this movie, I was really surprised at how much What Just Happened disappointed me. Perhaps, I should have known it wouldn't be very good, since they chose not to put the question mark on the end and leave "What Just Happened" looking like a statement, rather than the question "What" makes the sentence.
I'd say skip this one, or at least put it low on your Netflix list. I watched the whole thing, but if I hadn't had other things to keep me busy, I probably wouldn't have bothered.

Breaking and Entering (2006)

Cast: Jude Law (Will Francis), Juliette Binoche (Amira), Robin Wright Penn (Liv), Martin Freeman (Sandy)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's Breaking and Entering page.
This was definitely an odd movie. Breaking and Entering is a movie about people struggling to hold it together. Whether it's a marriage that's falling apart or dealing with other problems in their lives.
The cast is amazing, but the plot left me wanting more. At the end of the movie, all I could think was that the movie had been strange. Parts of it are very good, but for portions of it I was wondering why I was bothering. I suppose it's because I never got fully invested in the characters. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for this movie at the time, but I think it's one that can be skipped in spite of the amazing cast.

Unbreakable (2000)

Cast: Bruce Willis (David Dunn), Samuel L. Jackson (Elijah Price), Robin Wright Penn (Audrey Dunn)
For complete info, see IMDb's Unbreakable page.
I'll go see anything that M. Night Shyamalan does for the screen - period. This isn't as amazing as The Sixth Sense, but I think most of that is because we now know that M. Night Shyamalan will have a twist. Knowing that makes you think more about all the possibilities as you're watching the movie, which detracts from the work a bit. The idea of one man who can't be killed by normal means and one man who is very frail and suspect to injury discovering each other and the events that follow is great and I can't think of anyone better to present this than M. Night Shyamalan.
I look forward to many more movies by M. Night Shyamalan and recommend Unbreakable.

Though I don't think it's up there with the best movies of all time, which many have argued, I did really enjoy Forrest Gump. It's a movie that really offers a unique perspective on life and allows you to appreciate what you have a bit more. The cast is amazing and the story is very good. In spite of all the challenges Forrest faces, Forrest Gump manages to be an overall uplifting story, which is nice.

The Princess Bride (1987)

Cast: Cary Elwes (Westley), Mandy Patinkin (Inigo Montoya), Chris Sarandon (Prince Humperdinck), Christopher Guest (Count Tyrone Rugen)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's The Princess Bride page.
I'm a sucker for fairy tales and hilarious fairy tales can't be beaten in my book. There's adventure and storybook love. Very fascinating and fun story. Sure, it's unrealistic, but that's what it's all about. Any story with a giant, a devious count, an evil prince, a beautiful peasant turned princess, and swordplay, and some kissing has my attention!
The cast is wonderful, the soundtrack is perfect, and the story is fabulous! Enjoy the fascinating fairy tale and perfectly happy ending.
Is there anyone around who can't quote lines from this movie? If that isn't a statement, I don't know what is! The Princess Bride was an instant classic and it will stand the test of time, since it's an amazingly well done fairy tale.
