Georgia Rule (2007)

Cast: Jane Fonda (Georgia), Lindsay Lohan (Rachel), Felicity Huffman (Lilly), Dermot Mulroney (Simon), Cary Elwes (Arnold)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's Georgia Rule page.
Considering all the horrible things I heard about the filming of Georgia Rule, I wasn't expecting much, which is why I'd planned to rent it. When it was available on my flight back from New York, I thought that was perfect. I was surprised to find Georgia Rule pretty entertaining. Much better than what I expected. Not a great movie, but definitely worth renting or using to pass the time on a flight.

Another Country (1984)

Cast: Rupert Everett (Guy Bennett), Colin Firth (Tommy Judd), Cary Elwes (James Harcourt), Michael Jenn (Barclay)
For complete movie info, see IMDb's Another Country page.
Had this not been recommended to me, I doubt I would have ever seen it, in spite of the amazing cast. If you're a fan of Rupert Everett, Colin Firth, or Cary Elwes, you should see this movie to see the young stars shine. Another Country is no Dead Poets Society, but this movie (based on the real life of Guy Burgess, a Cambridge Spy) is very well done.
Almost the entire movie is a flashback and the make-up on Rupert Everett is so good that if it weren't for his voice I wouldn't have realized it was him in the beginning. The story is interesting and I think this movie is definitely worth renting.

Saw (2004)

Cast: Leigh Whannell (Adam), Cary Elwes (Dr. Lawrence Gordon), Danny Glover (Detective David Tapp), Ken Leung (Detective Steven Sing)
For complete info, see IMDb's Saw page.
I'm normally more of a fan of thrillers than horror films, so when I saw this listed as horror, I had no intention of renting it. Then, a friend whose husband is really into horror films said that this one really wasn't that bad and that it was more of a thriller. Having seen it, I can see why it was labeled a horror film. However, I agree with my friend that it's not that bad of a horror film. There were definitely scenes where I looked away, but overall I thought Saw was a good movie. I even added the sequel, which was also rated highly by my friends, to my Netflix list.
If you're a thriller or horror fan, I think this is something you should rent. Very interesting story, though definitely a bit gruesome at parts.

Kiss the Girls (1997)

Cast: Morgan Freeman (Dr. Alex Cross), Ashley Judd (Dr. Kate McTiernan), Cary Elwes (Det. Nick Ruskin), Alex McArthur (Det. Davey Sikes)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's Kiss the Girls page.
This story about a woman who escapes a serial killer and then works with the police to help find the killer is very well done. The music and sound effects are as wonderful as the cast. The suspense is really increased by the proper sound. The cast is wonderful and this movie is worth seeing. I thought so when I originally saw it and I still believe it when I watched it on HBO recently. It's not quite as suspenseful as it was the first time I saw it, but after seeing a movie a few times, that will happen. I still recommend renting this one to check it out.

The Princess Bride (1987)

Cast: Cary Elwes (Westley), Mandy Patinkin (Inigo Montoya), Chris Sarandon (Prince Humperdinck), Christopher Guest (Count Tyrone Rugen)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's The Princess Bride page.
I'm a sucker for fairy tales and hilarious fairy tales can't be beaten in my book. There's adventure and storybook love. Very fascinating and fun story. Sure, it's unrealistic, but that's what it's all about. Any story with a giant, a devious count, an evil prince, a beautiful peasant turned princess, and swordplay, and some kissing has my attention!
The cast is wonderful, the soundtrack is perfect, and the story is fabulous! Enjoy the fascinating fairy tale and perfectly happy ending.
Is there anyone around who can't quote lines from this movie? If that isn't a statement, I don't know what is! The Princess Bride was an instant classic and it will stand the test of time, since it's an amazingly well done fairy tale.
