I'd heard some good and some mediocre things about National Treasure: Book of Secrets. I have to say I agree with those on the mediocre side. This movie wasn't nearly as good as the original and I'm glad I didn't bother to see it in a theatre. It was worth watching at home while doing some other stuff, but if I'd given it my full attention I probably would have been bored at points.
The cast is still great and everything is well done, the second movie just seems to be missing something. I didn't find it nearly as interesting as the first movie.

The previews made me think that A History of Violence would be a very different movie. I don't want to ruin it for anyone, but I was surprised by what happens after this average, friendly man in a little town kills a couple of people who are about to harm people in his restaurant.
A History of Violence is a very good movie with a great cast. Definitely a very dark movie (both in tone and picture). A bit of a weird ending. Sort of left us both (David and I) wanting a bit more. The movie sort of just ended. It was resolved, just a bit sudden.
I deffinitely suggest finding out what really happens in A History of Violence.

Any movie that combines a touching story based on a true story with sports (especially hockey, football, or baseball) is going to get my attention. Radio was so well done. It was such an amazingly moving movie.
While visiting my mom, I saw the real Radio on Oprah and the shot they showed of what happened (when the other team let him get a touchdown) and the description by his mom about his explaining the game and how his team must have won, since they were so happy (even though they lost by quite a bit) made me cry.
The movie Radio did the same thing. I was so moved. I got so involved with the people in the movie. I did keep waiting for the real-life clip I had seen in the movie and was a bit disappointed when it never came, but Cuba Gooding Jr. does an amazing job as Radio and I highly recommend this touching story.

This story of a brilliant man dealing with the mathematical problems he allows to take over his life and his secret work is my pick for best picture of 2001. It's wonderfully written and has the perfect cast. Everyone in A Beatiful Mind did an amazing job. It's one of those movies you can't say much about without giving anything important away, but go see it!

As someone who enjoys a good conspiracy theory, this movie about a thief who witnesses a crime involving the President of the US definitely interested me. I enjoyed seeing Clint Eastwood in this one. Not very different from many of his roles, but different enough to keep me interested and that's really all I can ask of a movie for a couple hours.
The cast is wonderful and the story is really good. I definitely recommend renting this one.

Apollo 13 is definitely a very good real-life drama directed by Ron Howard. Somehow, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. I can't really put my finger on the reason for this. The cast is great, the drama was well done, it's a great story based on real events... Perhaps it's just that Tom Hanks has been in a big movie for the last two years running and I would have rather seen someone else or something.
Either way, Apollo 13 is a very well done movie about events that really happened to the astronauts on their way to the moon.
