Contact (1997)

Contact is one of those movies people will either love or hate. Personally, I'm on the love side. I think it's a very powerful movie about Dr. Ellie Arroway, who finds conclusive radio proof of intelligent life forms elsewhere in the universe after years of searching. These aliens send plans for a mysterious machine, which of course causes a ton of debate about what this machine will do - will it destroy our world or will it bring us closer together with the other life forms in the universe? The movie continues from there and is very well done. If you missed this, it's a must rent movie!
