The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997)

Cast: Jeff Goldblum (Dr. Ian Malcolm), Julianne Moore (Dr. Sarah Harding), Pete Postlethwaite (Roland Tembo)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's The Lost World: Jurassic Park page.

I loved the first Jurassic Park book and was only a little disappointed with the movie. Don't ask why I saw The Lost World: Jurassic Park, but I can say this much - it wasn't my choice. When I read the book The Lost World, I only finished it because I always finish books that I read. It read like a crappy screenplay, so I thought, "They can't make it any worse when they make the movie, right?" I was wrong. Very wrong.

The highlight of this movie was (sadly) in the credits when I realized that I recognized a friend from college's name. I was so surprised, even though I knew he'd been working for Steven Spielberg. The fact that there was a Starbucks every time a character turned around before they got to the island was funny, too.

I did rent this so that I could find my college friend as an extra in the scene, but that would have been more than enough for me in this movie. The first movie is pretty good, probably really good if you didn't read the book. But stay away from this horrible sequel!
