Cake (2005)

Cast: Heather Graham (Pippa McGee), David Sutcliffe (Ian), Taye Diggs (Hemingway Jones), Sandra Oh (Lulu)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's Cake page.

With such a wonderful cast, how could it not be worth renting or recording on Tivo? That was my thought, and I still feel that way after having seen it. Cake is a very cute romantic comedy with an amazing cast.

The story of a travel writer who's not used to be tied down to one place and is very against love and marriage taking over her dad's bridal magazine when he gets sick is very sweet. Initially, she fights with everyone on the magazine's staff, wanting to make the magazine edgy and anti-marriage (not the best for any bridal magazine's sales). In the end, everything works out perfectly, it is a romantic comedy, after all.

Sure Cake is predictable, but it's a cute story that's well done, so it's definitely worth your time.

Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999)

Cast: Mike Myers (Austin Powers/Dr. Evil/Fat Bastard), Heather Graham (Felicity Shagwell), Michael York (Basil Exposition), Seth Green (Scott Evil)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me page.

The one scene (with the coffee, for those of you who have seen it) just goes beyond my tolerance level. Other than that, I enjoyed this movie a lot! I particularly love the relationship between Dr. Evil and Scott Evil! It's so funny! I also think Heather Graham did a great job and that she and Mike Myers interacted very well. Of course, Mike Myers is hilarious as always. Another funny Austin Powers movie.

Lost in Space (1998)

Cast: William Hurt (Prof. John Robinson), Mimi Rogers (Dr. Maureen Robinson), Lacey Chabert (Penny Robinson), Heather Graham (Dr. Judy Robinson), Jack Johnson (Will Robinson)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's Lost in Space page.

I think if I hadn't been a fan of the TV show Lost in Space and had high expectations for the movie that I could have really enjoyed it. The movie Lost in Space probably wasn't THAT bad if you didn't already know and love the characters or expect them to live up to your expectations.

That being said, I don't know of anyone who really enjoyed it. I think it'll make a decent rental if you haven't seen it, but don't expect much - just sit back and enjoy silly Sci-Fi.
