August Rush (2007)

Cast: Freddie Highmore (Evan Taylor - 'August Rush'), Keri Russell (Lyla Novacek), Jonathan Rhys Meyers (Louis Connelly), Terrence Howard (Richard Jeffries), Robin Williams (Maxwell 'Wizard' Wallace)
For complete info on this wonderful cast, see IMDb's August Rush page.
It took me a while to see this movie, partly because I didn't really know what it was about and even now that I've finally seen it, I don't remember seeing any promotional information on the movie. I really enjoyed August Rush. Anyone who loves music and isn't put off by a romantic movie should really enjoy this film. Of course, I added August Rush to my Netflix list because of the cast. Almost any of the main actors could get me to watch a movie on their own. Together, they're well worth taking the time to see any movie.
Initially, I wasn't happy with the way that the flashback format seemed to be working, but as the story progressed, I understood why the story was put together the way it was and I really enjoyed the way everything came together. I highly recommend adding August Rush to your Netflix list if you enjoy music, romance, or both.
The story of a child prodigy who is discovered while trying to find his real parents is moving and thoroughly enjoyable.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: The IMAX Experience (2005)

Cast: Johnny Depp (Willy Wonka), Freddie Highmore (Charlie Bucket), Deep Roy (Oompa Loompa)
For complete information, see IMDb's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory page.
This was a wonderful remake of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory! I liked the original a lot and had, of course, seen it many times, so I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the remake. Seeing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in IMAX surely helped me to get into the movie, since you feel like you're almost there with images that big.
Johnny Depp did an amazing job as Willy Wonka and the rest of the cast was very good. The story hasn't been altered much. In fact, this movie follows the original book better than the original movie did, which was nice to see.
Deep Roy is so great performing the rolls of all the Oompa Loompas in the movie. With a song for almost everything, the Oompa Loompas do a lot in this version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and it adds to the humor of the movie. If you liked the books and/or the original movie, I definitely recommend that you see the new version with Johnny Depp!

Two Brothers (2004)

Cast: Guy Pearce (Aidan McRory), Jean-Claude Dreyfus (Administrator Normandin), Freddie Highmore (Young Raoul)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's Two Brothers page.
This is such a sweet story. The tigers are adorable and I was amazed at how much I was drawn in by them. Two Brothers actually made me cry. I know, I'm a total sap for being so sad about a couple of tiger cubs, but they're adorable and the story is heart-wrenching.
Definitely a great rental. I would have felt silly in a movie theater (probably one full of little kids) crying.
