The Clair Trevor School of the Arts' production of Sunday in the Park with George is the best production I've seen them perform. The cast is wonderful. The scenic design is very well done. I've wanted to see a production of Sunday in the Park with George for years and I'm glad I got a chance to see this one, even though it will have a Broadway revival next year.
I highly recommend seeing the UCI production of Sunday in the Park with George if you have a chance. It's not around long, so get tickets now.

When I first heard about Pageant of the Masters, I didn't understand exactly how amazing it really is. I don't think you can understand that until you see it. The first time I saw it (3 years ago), I was amazed, even though we were in the very last row (we didn't even have real seats) and I used my binoculars a lot. Last year, we got much closer seats and I liked the way they made the transitions better, since you could see the cast moving as the picture got into place and as it was leaving the stage. I think this movement before and after made the actual pose of the picture (perfectly still for a minute or more) even more amazing.
This year, we had the best seats imaginable. We were in the 4th row almost dead center. I'd never been so close and I was truly amazed at how much detail you could see without binoculars. I can't believe how the artists can copy so many amazing paintings down to the very last detail using real people (even children). Some of the cast members have to be in incredibly difficult poses and this year, the length of time seemed really long for some of the pieces as the description went on. I can't imagine how they manage to hold those poses for so long. I know it's a huge commitment on their part, too. Some of the cast members have to be there early in the morning when the show isn't until 8:30 at night.
If you haven't seen Pageant of the Masters, it's a truly remarkable experience. And if you have, consider going back if you can get the tickets. I've been spoiled by our friend now. I don't think I could sit much further back any more, since it was really amazing to see everything from so close.
Pageant of the Masters uses real people to make live works of art that look exactly like the originals hanging in museums around the world (or even having since been destroyed). They recreate paintings and sculptures and really blow the audience away. The fact that they can change the scenes out so quickly over and over throughout the night and exactly duplicate the original art is so impressive. I can't say enough good things about Pageant of the Masters. It's really one of those things you can't fully believe or imagine until you see it for yourself.

The Shape of Things is a wonderful play by Neil LaBute that deals with changing yourself for a relationship and all the consequences of that. There is also an emphasis on art, which is very good.
I was amazed by the transformation in The Shape of Things and highly recommend this play to anyone who can get there. The cast is amazing and it was great to finally see them in a live performance. The Shape of Things is a very eye-opening play and definitely one of the best I've seen in years.
Note: The Shape of Things is now a movie, so rent it on DVD if you haven't seen the play. They did a great job using the original cast of the play for the movie and kept the integrity of the play by doing so.
