The Pink Panther (2006)

Cast: Steve Martin (Insp. Jacques Clouseau), Kevin Kline (Chief Insp. Dreyfus), Beyonce Knowles (Xania), Jean Reno (Gendarme Gilbert Ponton)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's The Pink Panther page.
I knew the reviews for this version of The Pink Panther were horrible, but with Steve Martin and Kevin Kline, I wondered how bad it could really be. Perhaps I shouldn't have... I love Steve Martin, but this wasn't even close to his normal standard. The same thing goes for Kevin Kline. Definitely disappointing. If you want to relive the days of The Pink Panther, rent the original. It's still funny. Stay away from this one.

The Emperor's Club (2002)

Cast: Kevin Kline (William Hundert), Emile Hirsch (Sedgewick Bell)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's The Emperor's Club page.
This movie is probably a bit too much like Dead Poets Society (one of my favorite movies) to do well in movie theaters, but it was a very well done movie and I would recommend it.
If you loved Dead Poets Society, you'll really enjoy The Emperor's Club. If not, you should probably skip it.

In & Out (1997)

Cast: Kevin Kline (Howard Brackett), Joan Cusack (Emily Montgomery), Tom Sellek (Peter Malloy), Matt Dillon (Cameron Drake)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's In & Out page.
This movie about a high school teacher planning his wedding who is outted on national TV by a famous former student is funny and endearing. The movie is often ridiculous, but never goes too far, so it remains funny. The cast is amazing and the story is well done. The madness that ensues after the announcement is wonderfully entertaining. Nothing serious in this movie, just a light and fun movie if you want to have a good time.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996)

Cast: Tom Hulce, Demi Moore, Tony Jay, Kevin Kline, Paul Kandel, Jason Alexander
For complete cast info, see IMDb's The Hunchback of Notre Dame page.
I've been a fan of the story The Hunchback of Notre Dame, since I saw the TV movie in 1982. The TV movie made me cry. I didn't expect that of the Disney version, I know it's for kids and that they'd leave out a lot of the story, but I still expected it to be good.
Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame has the worst music I can remember in a Disney movie (with a couple exceptions, like God Help the Outcasts). The gargoyles were ridiculous, though I thought it was cute that they were named Victor, Hugo, and Laverne (after the author of the novel, Victor Hugo and his wife).
The scene where Esmeralda sings God Help the Outcasts is wonderfully done. So is the Topsy Turvy scene. The rest of the movie is questionable at best and very disappointing.
I'm sure I would have seen this even if I didn't work for The Disney Stores at the time, but at least I wouldn't have to explain it to parents then...

Dave (1993)

Cast: Kevin Kline (Dave Kovic/Bill Mitchell), Sigourney Weaver (Ellen Mitchell)
For complete info, see IMDb's Dave page.
This story about a guy who takes the place of the president when the president goes into a coma to cover up the truth is a very cute romantic comedy. Dave is a lot kinder and gentler and everyone seems to notice the difference, though they don't put their finger on the truth behind it.
None of the people in the president's cabinet expected Dave to do anything but nod & smile and read the speeches they'd written. When Dave gets involved and starts to make some changes, the guys who put him into a position of power get a bit nervous.
This is a well-done story of what might happen if an every-day guy gets thrown into the major leagues by getting to pretend he's the president. Very fun. Not stellar, but definitely worth the time to see this movie!
