Vanity Fair (2004)

Cast: Reese Witherspoon (Becky Sharp), Romola Garai (Amelia Sedley), Gabriel Byrne (The Marquess of Steyne), Angelica Mandy (Young Becky)

I know that many disagree with me, but I thought they did a good job with the Vanity Fair movie. Reese Witherspoon is wonderful, as always, and the rest of the cast was very good, too. I love a good period piece and I think Vanity Fair is one about a woman who manages to claw her way up the social ladder.

Definitely not for everyone, as the reviews have shown, but if you like period pieces, I think this is a good movie to rent.

Grade: B+
