What a cute show! I liked the movie and thought this would be a fun show, but in person it was a lot more fun than I imagined. Hairspray is worth seeing for the opening scene alone and the show is a lot of fun. I had never seen anything like the opening scene and that's all I can really say without giving anything away. Go see the show to understand what I mean.

The songs of Hairspray are fun, the cast is wonderful - especially Marissa Jaret Winokur and Harvey Fierstein. This is a fun show for the entire family.

Grade: B+
