Amelie (2001)

For once, I saw the best foreign film before it won! This is only because a lot of people I knew in the industry (because of my boyfriend at the time) told me to go see it, since it was great. I have to say that I don't always agree with those in the theatre industry on what makes a good movie, so I was hesitant. However, I really agree with them on Amelie. It was fresh, original, funny, and romantic. Very enjoyable and well worth renting - especially if you (or anyone you know) likes gnomes.
