James Joyce's The Dead, tour, Ahmanson Theatre - LA (2000)

Cast: Sally Ann Howes (Aunt Julia Morkan), Marni Nixon (Aunt Kate Morkan), Donna Lynne Champlin (Mary Jane Morkan), Stephen Bogardus (Gabriel Conroy), and other good performers

The performances in James Joyce's The Dead were wonderful, but the show put me to sleep. There wasn't really a story and I just couldn't get into the musical at all. The person I saw it with agreed with me, but perhaps if you go in prepared for what you get and knowing there is no story it would be a better show. In any case, I understand why it closed so quickly on Broadway.
