Cast: Emma Watson (Pauline Fossil), Yasmin Paige (Petrova Fossil), Lucy Boynton (Posy Fossil), Emilia Fox (Sylvia Brown)

I loved all the books by Noel Streatfield when I was younger and I enjoyed the TV adaptation of Ballet Shoes. Clearly, it's mostly geared towards children (as is the original novel), but if you loved the books, I definitely recommend taking a look at this TV movie. The cast is great and the story is followed well.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (2004)

Cast: Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), Alan Rickman (Professor Severus Snape), Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban page.
This was by far my favorite of the Harry Potter movies so far. Of course, I'm not a fan of the books. I read the first two and barely got through those. Not sure why, but they just don't interest me. This movie, where the kids are growing up and Hermione figures out how to fix everything was the first Harry Potter movie that I really enjoyed. I highly recommend renting this one if you missed it in theatres, though I'm sure if you're a Harry Potter fan you saw it in theatres, which I didn't. For me, seeing them on our big screen at home is good enough. I hope this movie is a good sign of better movies to come for the next 4 installments of Harry Potter!

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001)

Cast: Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), Alan Rickman (Professor Severus Snape), Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy)
For complete cast info, see IMDb's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone page.
The cast was great, the special effects were very good, but the story didn't grab me. I wasn't one of the thousands who had read the Harry Potter books when this came out, but I saw it right away, since I had a friend who was a big fan. The movie was good, but not as interesting as I expected. I will probably see the rest of the movies, but don't really have an interest in the books.
The world of witches and wizards has always interested me, but for some reason the specific characters in this one aren't that interesting to me. Can't really explain it, but it's not my thing.
Of course, it's popular with everyone else, so I'd still recommend it.
