The Drowsy Chaperone, Broadway (2007)

Cast: John Glover (Man in Chair), Mara Davi (Janet Van De Graaf)
For complete info, see the official The Drowsy Chaperone and the IBDb's The Drowsy Chaperone page.

I really enjoyed this show when I saw it in the world premiere pre-Broadway run at the Ahmanson with the Original Broadway Cast. My best friend had never seen it and I thought it would be a good one to see again. :-) The cast of the show on Broadway is wonderful now. It was great to see John Glover live and wonderful to see Mara Davi in a bigger role on Broadway. Mara was wonderful when I saw her as Cassie in A Chorus Line at Cal State Fullerton and as Maggie in ACL in her Broadway debut. It's great to see her have such a big part in only her second Broadway show. Sometimes, the good performers have things work out well for them and I'm glad to see that's happening for Mara.

The Drowsy Chaperone is a very funny show. I highly recommend seeing it. I'm still annoyed that it didn't win Best Musical. A cover band winning bugs me. I hope it will stay on Broadway a long time, since it's really a good show for those who love theatre to see.
