La Boheme, tour, Ahmanson Theatre - LA (2004)

Cast: Ben Davis (Marcello), Alfred Boe (Rodolfo), and many other talented opera performers

To all those who know that I've always hated opera... Let it be said that I tried again. I really did. I love the story of La Boheme, obviously, since I'm a HUGE fan of Rent. I love Baz Luhrmann's work, since I am a huge fan of Moulin Rouge. I thought for sure I would enjoy this version of La Boheme. I really did go into it with an open mind.

That being said, I'm not the right person to review this show. I tried to enjoy the show and the way they put the translation in different parts of the stage depending on how the sets were turned was very interesting. The sets, costumes, lighting, and performances were all amazing. I simply don't like opera. So, I wouldn't recommend this if you think it will be a cross between opera and a standard musical, but if you like opera, I'm sure it's amazing.
